Occupational Therapists

Director/Senior Occupational Therapist
Callum Johnson
I am the founder and Director of Margaret River Therapy. Since graduating as an Occupational Therapist in 2008, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting people with disabilities. I began my professional journey at Rocky Bay in Perth, where I spent seven years specialising in neuromuscular conditions across the lifespan and developing a strong interest in seating and posture. In 2016, I moved to Margaret River to work with Senses WA, where I expanded to working closely with children and adolescents. Living in a close-knit regional community sparked my passion for helping clients not only achieve their personal goals but also to become active and engaged members of their community. I take pride in delivering therapy that is person-centred, neuro-affirming, and strength-based, ensuring that every client feels supported to build on their abilities and successes. In 2022, I established a free disability cricket program in partnership with the local cricket club, now entering its fourth season. This initiative reflects my belief in creating inclusive, community-based opportunities for children and families. After 14 years working with large not-for-profit organisations, I inspired in 2023 to establish Margaret River Therapy. My vision was to create a locally tailored service that reflects the unique needs of the Margaret River/ Busselton regions and surrounding areas. Since then, the practice has grown into a team of five highly skilled therapists and a practice manager, all sharing the same commitment to building genuine relationships and making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they support. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Hayley, our two young children, and much-loved pets Obi the dog and Teddy the cat. I’m also passionate about surfing, golf, cricket, footy, and living an active lifestyle in the beautiful South West.

Senior Occupational Therapist
Katy Anderson
I am an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting children, young people, and adults to thrive in their everyday lives. Over the last 10 years, I have worked across the South West and Kimberley regions, supporting individuals and families with a wide range of needs. I recently completed postgraduate studies in Child Development (Developmental Psychology), which has deepened my interest in neurodiversity and the ways we can best support children and young adults to understand themselves and flourish. I also have extensive experience working with children with complex physical disabilities, including prescribing specialised equipment to promote independence, participation, and meaningful engagement in daily activities. My practice is guided by a family-centred, child-led, and neuro-affirming approach. I am committed to working not only with the child, but also with their family, school, and broader support network to build understanding of the child’s needs. My goal is to enhance inclusion, participation, and engagement across all areas of life—whether that’s learning at school, playing with friends, building independence at home, or joining in community activities. Outside of work, I’m a local mum of two young children. As a family, we love camping, spending time at the beach, and keeping active outdoors.

Senior Occupational Therapist
Karen Stelter
Over the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in a diverse range of clinical settings and continue to develop my passion and skills as an Occupational Therapist every day. After working in rural WA, tertiary health, and aged care settings, I spent four years working in the NHS where I was lucky enough to learn one of the most important skills of my career - how to ride a bicycle across East London while balancing a toilet frame on my back! I’m incredibly grateful to now be living and working back in my hometown and am proud to be a part of the South-West community. I’m passionate about supporting people across the adult lifespan to live as independently as possible, and to help them engage in the things that matter to them most - whether that’s at home or in the community. This can include building independence with daily activities, prescribing equipment to enhance safety and function, exploring minor home modifications, and working alongside existing supports to achieve the best possible outcomes. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors in nature. I love riding my bike and pottering in the garden and will take any chance to jump in the ocean.
Speech Therapists

Senior Speech Therapist
Coco Speak
I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults to build their communication skills, enriching their everyday life. I have supported families in using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Gestalt Language Processing, early language development and dysphagia and mealtimes using a family-centred and neuro-affirming approach. I enjoy collaborating with families, teachers and support networks to create practical strategies to help children in developing skills to express themselves, connect with others and build confidence in their communication. I believe therapy should be flexible, creative and tailored to each individual by using play, music or everyday routines to make communication meaningful. My goal is to build inclusion, independence and communication confidence across all areas of life. Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors. I love going to the beach with my dog, exploring the South West with family and friends, fishing or reading a good book.

Senior Speech Therapist
Lauren Rodgers
I am a Senior Speech Pathologist with a passion for supporting children and adults with disability to achieve their communication and participation goals. I graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology in 2020 and have been working in the disability sector ever since. Before that, I completed a Bachelor of Science (Human Biology) in 2015, and across all my studies, I spent time working and volunteering in disability therapy, which really sparked my passion for this field. These experiences shaped my commitment to empowering people of all ages and abilities through evidence-based, person-centred care. I have a particular interest in supporting children and adults with complex communication needs and exploring augmentative and alternative communication. I am very passionate in advocating that every person has the right to communicate their needs and wants. I also have a very strong interest in early childhood intervention and working with families to support early speech and language development. Outside of work, I am a mum and love spending time with my daughter, family, and friends. I love watching the footy and cheering on the Fremantle Dockers, heading to the beach, getting creative with arts and crafts, and unwinding with a red wine or a spicy margarita.

Practice Manager, Margaret River
Hayley Johnson
As the Practice Manager at MRT, my role is to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, allowing our team to dedicate their time to hands-on therapy. With a background in contracts and a knack for organisation, I hope to bring both structure and heart to the role. I’m passionate about creating an environment where people feel seen, supported and included and find joy in sharing in the successes of our team and their clients. For the past seven years, I’ve poured myself into raising our two children, who have provided more learning opportunities and life experience than I could have ever imagined. With the clinic (and our children) now growing, I’m excited to be back in a professional setting, supporting the team alongside my husband, Callum. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me in a Pilates class, teaching a barre workout, or wrangling our little ones.
